Our first Landing / Carlos y JP en el Artico

Yesterday morning everyone was happier than the past two days. That was because our first landing was programmed for that day and we could already see Greenland on the horizon. What we were all really looking forward to was the land part of landing. Seasickness had not stopped for most of us. In the afternoon the crew decided on a place to land and we all hopped on the zodiacs and went to this little beach with the most beautiful landscape I have ever seen. We took pictures of the biodiversity there and each group made their own experiments. We were there for a couple of hours but it felt like a few minutes seriously. There were huge glaciers and small rivers that went into this ice green sea, amazing. Then we went back on the zodiacs, the little air motorboats we use to get to land, and we had so much fun. Back on the boat we had a brief meeting and dinner. After that we were with Nicole because it was her birthday, but the ship started to move again, which meant most of us had to get back in bed and as Dhruv said “pray to God we all die”. Yeah, that is how bad it feels, fortunately Carlos and I weren’t feeling that bad, but I still had to lay down. Today we are hoping to have two landings and I hope we can blog about it later.

Saludos desde el mar Atlántico
Cuando entramos al barco todos estaban muy felices y emocionados pero media hora después de partir uno por uno casi todos sucumbieron a los efectos mareadores del mar. Hoy el mar no ha cambiado mucho y muchos siguen en la cama mientras estoy escribiendo (por suerte no fui afectado) pero me dijeron que ya no va a empeorarse y tal vez se mejorara. Muchas actividades y el postre que era helado fueron cancelados por que casi todos están durmiendo o en la cama sin poder levantarse, solo como 9 se sienten lo suficientemente bien para poder levantarse y caminar.
Fuera de eso el mar es increíble, algunas gaviotas vuelan alrededor del barco, y en el horizonte se ve la tormenta que en la noche paso por el barco y adentro del barco todo se mueve de un lado a otro, es un poco difícil caminar aquí y andamos todos chocando contra las paredes, espero que se calme pronto porque si no, no podremos salir a la cubierta hasta que se calme el barco. Lo bueno es que tenemos un sauna, un gimnasio (solo un par de pesas pequeñas en el auditorio, jeje), un bar (tampoco tiene mucho), y cuartitos pequeños con 3 camas, el barco no es muy fino al ser un barco de investigación pero está bastante padre, los tripulantes hablan en ruso, y los creo que los chefs hablan español, no hemos hablado con ellos, pero sé que son de argentina, y son su comida es muy buena.
Mañana en la mañana llegaremos a Ammassalik, Groenlandia y lo más seguro es que el mar se calme para entonces ya que estamos en la costa y no el mar abierto.
